eHarmony

Unlike dating services, eHarmony will match you with people who are compatible not just on the surface, but also in the deep and important ways that truly matter in a relationship. Find your next great relationship today.  What you will not find here is the chance to browse through a list of potential mates -- there is no list, there is no browsing.

They are very scientific based with a real theory on how matching works with academic research to back it up.

Founded by a man called Dr. Neil Clark Warren it implements his theory of "29 key dimensions".  Things like "kindness" and "energy".

Using these characteristics they match you up with other people (not simply people with the same dimensions, but compatible people).

I didn't realize until recently but Dr Warren is actually an established author of self-help books on the subject of relationships, and is also a not just a psychologist but also a doctor of divinity -- a priest to you and me.

I've heard that about 5% of the people who ask to join are actually turned down because they are the outliers in the 29 dimensions -- they are outside the normal range and so Dr Warren's theory doesn't apply.

So rather than just guess and do a best-fit they will actually tell you they can't help you.

I think that says a lot for the honesty of the program!

Give it a try; and try their animated "tour".  There is a free personality test to fill out too which is very very detailed considering it's free, well worth the price (free) as well as the effort (plenty, you have to answer a lot of questions).

The site is not as big as the Yahoo Personals or Match.com, but it is substantial still -- and I understand that if you are particularly looking for someone with matching Christian religious beliefs then this may be the site for you.

So check out eharmony and do let me know in the forum if you have anything to tell me about it.
