Boasting over 7 million members, you’d have to say they they are doing something right and I would say they were as well. The point system is a unique hook. You can earn points by becoming a paid member from a three day membership that runs $3.95 USD to the annual membership for $99.95. You can also earn points by referring friends, or when someone accesses your profile. You can use the points you earn to access private profiles or to redeem for cash and prizes as long as you have $50 worth to redeem. You need points to send emails As for the stated purpose of the site, when you join you’re asked to state what your ultimate goal is: cyber-friendship, long-term friendship, lover, marriage, etc. You are also required to fill out information regarding your weight, height, hair and eye color, and drinking and smoking habits. That’s also unique that the information is required to be filled in. of course, you aren’t required to tell the truth or upload a photo so why they actually require the information isn’t exactly clear. In fact, if you go to the section where men can look for women, one of the first women profiled is this curvy blond. The page lets you see how many hits the profile gets and she gets a few, however, the blond in the picture is Rebecca Stamos, the fashion model and the picture is from the cover of Shape magazine done a few years ago. But since she’s looking only for cyber relationships, who really cares? (I imagine John and Rebecca Stamos care, but I’m not gonna tell ‘em!) Friendplay.com is a cute little site that offers some good detail in its profile and might be a place to look for some light hearted searching for online friends or something more serious. Other sites may take dating more seriously, but this is the only site that’s going to pay you for playing.
