there are real women there - unfortunately, it's THE worst site you can spend money on - they often take weeks/months to deliver mail (if it ever gets there) and their IM is also worthless. The day before your membership expires, they'll send you all the backmail to get you to renew. NO Tech support! they just milk you for $$

Sounds bad, so what sites do you recommend?

Not a bad site - mostly guys and a lot of BOT's. A few real women to chat with in the chat rooms, but the IM's don't always work and a lot of late (after dropping from the site) e-mails trying to entice you back.

Very little good to say about the site.

1. Teaser emails are received immediately after signing up for the "FREE!" membership. ("I think your profile is hot, and I'd love to meet for...". And I hadn't even posted a photo!) Of course, you have to pay the $25 monthly fee for Premium membership to answer the teasers. Once they have your $25, the teasers disappear.

2. Email is sometimes delayed, or never delivered at all. I have no proof, but I suspect that this is deliberate.

3. The "Who's Online" section was listing slightly over 600 profiles for about a month, then overnight, leaped to over 4,000. Not likely. And the "AcousticBaby" profile is ALWAYS online, 24/7. Fishy, no?

4. The "Females [or Males] Of The Week" profiles on the home page of the site are updated monthly, if even that.

5. 99% of the female profiles are mailbot bins for porn sites. If you send a real email address to a member through the site's email, be sure to use a throwaway account. If you're fortunate (?) enough to get a reply from some members, you'll notice that grammar/spelling is poor, and most seem to be written by the same person.

Stats: Out of 400 test messages sent to random people over a 2-day period, received 75 replies. Of the 75, only 2 were real. The rest were either generic "email me at XXXhotslut@yahoo (or hotmail) .com" type messages, or 10-word barely-English crap.

My guess is that the Brit owner of the site hires illegal immigrants to answer messages.

6. 0.5% of members are Russian or Nigerian scammers. The remaining 0.5% are real people, and they usually end up in the chat room commiserating about being taken for $25. Hint: Use the "Match List" feature to track someone. If he/she always seems to be online, chances are good that it's a bot. Don't waste your time.

7. The Instant Message feature is slow, when it works at all.

8. Even in the chat room, bots are occasionally found.

9. Real people in chat: Most are friendly, some have been on the site for 3 years or more. The occasional cretin will pop in, but they never last long.

In summary:

Men: Unless you want to pay $25/month just to chat, avoid this site like the plague.

Women: Chat is free. Whoopee.

Email: If you send it, there's no reasonable expectation that it will be received. Ever.

General precaution: Get an MBNA credit card. MBNA allows you to generate a unique card number with their ShopSafe feature, with time and dollar limits that YOU specify, and the merchant never sees your real card number. This will help to avoid excessive charges from merchants who are apparently less than honest. Saves you the trouble of calling to dispute the charges, and saves money for the credit card company, which ultimately saves money for you.

Regards, and best of luck using OTHER sites,

Werecow

Everything that everyone says here about this site is true to my expierience at this site. There are only a few regulars in the chat room, the rest are bots, fake emails from person nonexistant in your box pretending to have corresponded with you before when they have not. There must be some very ignorant people out there to continue to support this site with their membership dues. Do not Join this site if you do not want to waste your money

Actually amateurmatch.com has worked really well for me.. I used to get lots of junk email from bots but not since they put it so you have to enter a "security code" every time you send a message. I have had a couple dates (in real life!!) from it but not anything serious yet I have made a few friends!!
Anyway i think its worth it and ill probably renew my membership for a while I think this is a really good site.

I certainly wish I'd of known of this place before I joined amateurmatch.com.
I can get just as brain-dead as the next guy when it comes to seeing a hottie. Even so, a guy's gotta expect that something's wrong when 4 different women all give me the same e-mail addy.
What ? Is there a shortage of e-mail addresses or something and no one told me ? Damn it, how come I'm always the last to know everything !
Anyway, I did in fact mention the same thing in an e-mail to their "cust. service" dept to which I finished up by asking them if they were the ones responsible for them being there.
I'd say 8 out of 10 were either bots or another 'come on' woman that would get your e-mail and then send you an e saying how much they'd like to see you and then places a link in the same e that only leads to another pay site.
***Something for everyone to keep in mind. Matter of fact it's not a bad idea at all. Take a nice website with kick-ass graphics, grab a ton of women's pictures off the web, assign them names, post them, pay some dudes to occassionally answer the mail back or better yet, just send out blanket e-mails in response. If real women join up in time that's all the better. If they don't then who's going to know the diff. There's absolutely nothing that can keep a website from stocking his site up with factious women this way.
My guess is that the above mentioned is the manner of how some of these sites come into existence to start with. Just a guess.
Everything else has already been addressed from what I see.

I do wish there was a way to get honest review sites like this listed Before all the crap amateurmatch.com puts out about itself.
I think I had to go about 5 pages before I finally found this place.
In my mind google shouldn't list reviews of a place when it's the place rating itself and certainly not for the top 40 to 50 sites listed by their search. There again I can understand the ways that cause this to happen and there's not much we can do about it cept to come here often. Even that may not do it though cuz money talks as we all know.
Welp, that's about it for me. I'm gonna get my soapbox and get my Texas ass out the door. Who knows, maybe I'll even get lucky and meet a woman the old-fashion way, just by being out there in that thing they call "Life".
Nawwwww. (lol)
Gotta jet ya'll,

I joined Amateurmatch with their free membership a couple of weeks ago. Have gotten a lot of messages from "women". Averaging about once a day. One thing that becomes really suspcious after a while is that every single one of them is thin, attractive and interested. I mean, come on. What's the likelihood of that actually happening?

All of these messages can be broken down into two categories: 1) those that come from porn websites or camgirl paysites (these always include a way to contact them outside the site (usually a Hotmail address), and a promise of more pictures); and 2) those that include no way to contact them at all, other than if I would actually sign up for a paid membership. The 2nd type are usually very realistic seeming, so beware! I continue to respond to messages of the 1st type, and if any of them ever turn out to be "for real", I'll let y'all know. But don't hold your breath. Wink

I have been on AM for six months. They have yet to reply to any complaints I have registered. I am in Papua New Guinea, and have had over 20 women email me from PNG, but when I do a search for women in PNG, guess what, only 2 show up, and they dont reply when sent massages. When i reply to the women who send me messages, and they reply back, their reply has nothing to do with the message I have sent them, just like they have never spoken to you before. This is a scam site. I think they just have a few people who reply to all the messages you send. I also get messages from women who say they live close to me, when in fact their profile puts them 10,000 miles away from me. Is there any government department who one can lodge a complaint with to have them shut down, Personally, I would love to show them the back of a cricket bat.

Well an update. Since I cancled my membership at Amateur Rip off, sorry Amateur Match, they have attempted to charge my credit card 3 times. Lucky I got my credit card company to lodge a dispute notice with their bank. Now I have to see if they can get my money back. I will update when I find out more. Anybody have any idea where these arse holes are located, so I can lodge a complaint with the local authorities there.
